Description: Commercial Round-Bilge Carvel Displacement Cruiser
An important part of Australian Maritime history is available for purchase in the form of the 32m Huon Pine Displacement Cruiser "Denison Star". She is currently operating commercially out of the Hamilton Island marina as a restaurant and function vessel.

The vessel was launched in 1996 and underwent an extensive refit in 2002. The surveyor noted in a late 2015 survey that the vessel "remains very well presented having been extensively refitted in 2002". "Denison Star" remains one of the largest Huon Pine vessels ever launched.

She carries current AMSA 1D registration for 148pax, and comes fitted with commercial kitchen stove and dinner seating for up to 100 passengers, or she can be refitted for an alternative purpose. She is also suited or functions and cocktail parties.

Well maintained twin Gardner diesels deliver the propulsion, and the power is provided by two generators delivering 55kva and 35kva respectively.

There is a full inventory and inclusions list available, and the vessel is available for viewing by appointment as Hamilton Island. She is presented to the market at a very reasonable price. Price includes GST

Remarks
Last out of water survey was performed in November 2015. The survey noted the "vessel remains very well presented having been extensively refitted in 2002 for her current trade as a restaurant and function vessel... ". A copy of the report is available upon request.

Launched in 1969 in Hobart, Tasmania, the Denison Star is part of Australian Maritime History and is one of the largest Huon Pine vessels ever built. The Huon Pine tree can only be found in the south western forests of Tasmania. This area of Tasmania is now a World Heritage listed area, as is the Great Barrier Reef.
At the time of her launch, Denison Star was the original cruiser on Gordon River in Strahan on the west coast of Tasmania.

In recent years she has been luxuriously reappointed for a unique and intimate Whitsunday cruising experience exclusively for Hamilton Island guests.

Two passengers level decks, including a Helm station on the upper deck. There are two outdoor and two indoor passenger areas. See photos for full layout.
