Description: Billy Ryan built in Taree - Price reduced Encumbrance Check?
Originally built for transporting milk on the northern rivers of NSW, SUNRISE II was purchased in 2009 by its current owner and was rebuilt from the topsides up and fully restored between 2010 and 2013. She is powered by a Lees Ford Bowman diesel with an output of 120hp. Cruising speed is around 8 knots with a maximum of 10 knots. Steering is a Hydrive single hydraulic ram and the transmission is a Paragon. Other equipment includes: 2 x 12v heavy duty marine batterys, Solar panel, Stainless steel fuel tank 650L, 200L fresh water tank, 200L Sullage tank, 12 volt electric toilet to holding tank, Electric anchor winch with all necessary ground tackle, Garman GPS 128 plotter/sounder/compas, Autopilot TMQ AP4 (not connected), GME GX 600A VHF radio, Isotherm fridge/freezer, Smev 2 burner gas stove with 2 gas bottles, 2 12 volt submersable bilge pumps, 1 EPIRB to Oct 2022, Flares, Vintage barometer (working), 3 metre GRP dinghy with 3hp Mercury outboard.
Last survey carried out 12th February 2013.
General Comments (extrct from the survey): This vessel is in a sound and seaworthy condition, she is well preserved and is a fine example of some of our early marine history we should all treasure. She has been lovingly restored and modified to work as a pleasure craft, her scantlings are solid and comparable with survey type vessels, she has been fibreglassed outside for long life protection, and her interior surfaces well coated with paint to prevent dry rot, her machinery and electrical systems are in good working order, with no wear or damage to her stern gear, all skin fittings were sound, and her anodes were in reasonable condition and working (replaced during last antifoul).
The owner has expended many hours of labour and a large amount of money to keep this vessel in its present state and is a credit to him for preserving one of Australia's Heritage type vessels.
