Description: Kadey Krogen 36 Manatee
THE KROGEN 36 MANATEE
The Manatee was created to be a breed of coastal cruiser that cut through pretense and concentrated on practicality and comfort.

Designed and constructed under the late James S. Krogen's direction, the Krogen Manatee was created especially for seafarers who preferred an able, friendly craft to a frivolous speedster. The Manatee was and is a boat that can stretch horizons and discover new ports. With 23,000 lb. Displacement and a 3'2" draft, she can explore rivers, bays and sounds. With a range of 1100 miles, she can embark for the Bahamas, circle the Great Lakes, crisscross the Chesapeake or meander Puget Sound and the San Francisco Delta area. Under way or anchor down, the Krogen Manatee is a cruiser that has logged many happy days and many happy miles.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE KROGEN 36 MANATEE
Even today proud owners of the Manatee enjoy the spacious liveability usually found only in a much larger craft. Thoughtful, innovative design provides convenience with comfort, complete with picture-window views when seated in the saloon.

Manatees offer plenty of natural ventilation to enjoy the sea breezes. Krogen Manatees are generous with storage, closet, cabinet and sleeping space. Interiors spaces feature the warmth of timeless teak, creating a fine home that takes to the sea.

CONSTRUCTION
The Manatee hull and cabin sides were all built of fiberglass sandwich construction with closed-cell PVC foam core, heavy hand lay-up using mat and roving. This construction remains one of the most enduring and safest afloat. (Closed-cell PVC foam core does not deteriorate or absorb water. ) The composite structure serves both as a buoyancy material and shock, sound and temperature insulator. It rides quiet, increases impact strength and eliminates condensation build-up inside the hull. Decks were built with fiberglass sandwich construction with end-grain balsa core. All joinery work, paneling, and beam-caps were constructed of fine teak. Cabinets were all built of teak. Countertops were all topped with Formica.

The Krogen Manatee looks like a spunky, off-duty tugboat just aching for a cruise! Salty. Agile. At ease with the sea...

The Manatee is a coastal cruiser that cuts through pretense and concentrates on performance and comfort. There is simply NO other 36' trawler that can even come close to offering the versatility, functionality and livability offered by this incredible Krogen model.

This is a yacht that can stretch the horizons and discover new ports with ease. With 23,000 lbs. Displacement and only a 3'2" draft, she can explore rivers, bays and sounds. With a range of 1,100 nautical miles, you could embark for the Bahamas, circle the Great Lakes, crisscross the Chesapeake or meander the Puget Sound and enjoy years of endless cruising!

Doors both, port and starboard lead out to the boat deck area or access forward to the foredeck.
The boat deck is an expansive 168 square feet for lounging and tender stowage. The stainless rails are all through-bolted for brute strength. It's nice to be able to step out of the Command Bridge and easily drop fenders, readying for docking.
Proceeding forward one step down to the foredeck and anchor windlass. There are storage lockers both port and starboard at the forward end of the Command Bridge, with a seating alcove in between. Another nice place to sit and enjoy the world around you from.

COCKPIT/BACK PORCH
Many Krogen owners refer to their cockpits as back porches and if you've been aboard a Krogen then you certainly understand why. The Manatee back porch is truly that! Boarding EASY RIDER can be done on either port or starboard sides through side door or the drop-down cockpit door.
Opening the French doors from the saloon to the 8' X 12" cockpit (back porch), expands your living area substantually. A few outstanding features to note here... You've probably noticed and wondered why looking at the photos, this Krogen model lacks a bolt-on swim platform? Well one of the absolutely coolest features of the Krogen Manatee is the drop-down cockpit door/gang way sun deck.
Imagine it... You're at anchor, you've got the double doors open and you've got a single level living space from owner's stateroom clear through to your opened cockpit, you've got fish on the BBQ, and maybe enjoying a glass of a locally crafted wine and about to enjoy another amazing sunset... Yep, EASY RIDER IS ONE HECK OF A GREAT CHOICE FOR YOU!!!

SALOON
The Saloon is very large, bright and breezy with sliding picture windows. To port is a built-in U-shaped dinette that converts to a queen size bed, the table is a Hi-Lo built-in that functions as a coffee table or opens to a full dinner table easily accommodating dinner for six! To starboard are two easy chairs and storage cabinets and a 32" Samsung LCD TV mounted on the aft bulkhead.
The Manatee saloon is designed for the social aspect but remains a warm living environment that you'll enjoy for years and years...

GALLEY
The Galley is located on the port side, forward of the saloon. This is a commodious galley offering exceptional storage found in cupboards, compartments and drawers.
One of the features that is SO special about this Galley, is the louvered double-opening door that either opens or closes the galley off from the saloon/dining area! Major components include:

The head area has a large opening window to provide incredible ventilation.

MASTER STATEROOM
One of the best features of the Krogen Manatee is the extra-large bright and airy stateroom!
