THE KROGEN 58' REPRESENTS A GIANT STEP FORWARD, both for this builder and for the industry as a whole. Nothing has been spared to bring her to fruition, from the intellectual rigor applied to arrive at the best possible design, to the care in the selection of the very best construction methods and materials.

Marine-grade plywood bulkheads with molded fiberglass hat section stringers. Interior finished with handcrafted solid Cherry and veneers.

DESTINY is a three stateroom layout. As you enter from the starboard side boarding door turning aft, you walk through a wing weather door and into the spacious and fully-covered cockpit, a signature feature of the Kadey-Krogen lineup. Being able to close the sea door, makes this a true extension of your saloon. The cockpit decking is teak and epoxied down. A large storage cabinet with power inlets sits to the starboard side of the cockpit. A convenient hot & cold fresh water shower hose is enclosed in a compartment on the transom. Exiting through the transom boarding door, Destiny's enlarged swim platform features removable stern staples, mooring whips for the tender and a removable bait tank.

Entering the saloon you pass through a Diamond SeaGlaze weather-tight door, this is a double door (note all exterior doors are the top quality offering from this brand). The dinette is to starboard. The dinette is fitted with a high/low table that can be either a coffee table or opened up to provide a six seating dinner table. This table is non-fixed and can be moved, but also fastened down for operation as the expanded dinner function format.

To port are two Ekornes Lifestyle recliner chairs with ottomans and a buffet table in-between. Behind is a TV system on a lift. Counters are granite in the saloon. This is a spectacular living environment and with the fully covered cockpit, opening up the saloon doors creates a space that is simply unequal in yachts of her size.

The Galley is forward and to starboard. One of the most desirable features on the Krogen 58 is the Dutch galley door. The galley is outfitted with the top-of-the line appliances. Opposite the galley is the buffet with an ice maker below. Three deep drawers are provided and are fitted with adjustable pegboard sections for adjustable dish and pan storage. The pantry is forward of the buffet and there is storage in the steps leading to the pilothouse.

This is a tri-level yacht, so proceeding down a four steps leads to the staterooms. To port a guest stateroom with an extendable lower bunk, and a desk on the after side of the room. Forward is a hanging locker. The owners upgraded to larger port lights in the two guest staterooms, offering more ventilation and light compared to the standard. The door hardware is all Mobela. Also all doors and lockers are fitted with O-ring gasket material to greatly reduce noise transfer from room to room.

To starboard is the second guest stateroom fitted with queen-sized berth. This berth has a section that will lift to provide an enormous storage area and fitted with gas struts for easy handling. Drawers are provided as well, hanging locker. This stateroom is adjacent to the guest head. All drawers are equipped with stainless sliders..

The guest head and separate stall shower is located just forward of the starboard guest stateroom. The counter top is granite. Toilets are freshwater flushing Dometic by Sealand, top quality and quiet flush.

Across from the guest head is the Asko full sized washer & dryer in its own locker with louvered doors. The hallway walls have beautiful cherry wainscoting with handholds.

Forward is the owners suite, with a standard queen-sized berth that also lifts to provide an enormous convenient storage compartment. There are two large hanging lockers, a chest of drawers and large drawers at the end of the berth. Again all drawers are on stainless glide sliders. The owners head and separate stall shower is to port. Behind the door that provides access to the backside of the Asko washer/dryer is a full length mirror. Ventilation is unparalleled in this model with Lewmar Ocean Series hatches and opening port lights. The Lewmar hatches are fitted with OceanAir screens as well.

Below deck in the owners suite is the forward machinery locker and has two collision bulkheads. In the hallway between the guest staterooms is the access hatch to the midship machinery locker, providing access to the TRAC stabilizer actuators, fresh water tank and ships electrical systems.
Access to the engine room is through a walk-in full stand up Diamond SeaGlaze weather-proof door, another collision bulkhead. Aft lazzarette to engine room is yet another collision bulkhead and Diamond SeaGlaze weather-proof door.

The pilothouse is up five steps from the saloon and galley area. The Krogen 58 pilothouse is the epicenter of Destiny. With two Stidd side-by-side helm chairs, provides an special seating arrangement for standing watch, a duty that can be shared and enjoyed. The pilothouse settee and dinette can be dropped to turn into a double berth, should the extra space be needed. Even much consideration was given to the bridge layout for navigational electronics, instrument panels and monitors. This is a very important area of focus that is many times overlooked. But on lengthy passages becomes of tremendous value. In the Krogen 58, the pilothouse is commodious and visibility is unparalleled in a comparably-sized yacht.

Exterior decks; on the Portuguese bridge deck, there is a control center on the starboard wing deck provided for ease of docking. Up forward of the Portuguese bridge, there are port and starboard seats with storage beneath. The foredeck is completely uncluttered and a joy to work upon. The stainless rails are tall and provide a very sensible and safe environment for offshore movement. The heart of the anchoring system is a Maxwell horizontal windlass with a center capstan. This provides for full functional dual anchoring. And to top off this ideal set up, there is a high pressure hydraulic anchor washing system with a dual nozzle pointed at the chain below the anchor platform.

Heading around the port side of the Portuguese bridge leads you up to the boat deck and flybridge. Just to port of the steps leading up to the flybridge is a generous storage locker that spans the entire subfloor of the flybridge. The flybridge has an L-shaped dinette to port and to starboard there are two Stidd helm chairs at the bridge. The flybridge is topped with a yard-built hard top and there are removable stairs that provide access to the hard top roof.

Aft of the flybridge is the summer kitchen with BBQ, sink, freezer and storage. There is a generous open area between the tender space and summer kitchen, providing for unparalleled entertainment space! Ideally designed for enjoyment at anchor.

The boat deck is fitted with a fuel storage tank for the tender, deck storage lockers and propane locker. The Boston Whaler Super Sport 13 is stowed aft in a separated section on the after boat deck. There is an access gate to provide to convenient entry into this area making maintenance needs a breeze.

Destiny is quite the yacht and a must see to truly appreciate. The address below is the virtual tour of Destiny.
