Description: Laurent Giles 29ft Classic Timber Yacht
Galatea-M is a modified (2ft longer) Normandy Class from the board of the famous yacht designer John "Jack" Laurent Giles.

Professionally built in 1958 as a Sydney to Hobart racer. She proved her worth in 1962 by placing 3rd overall and 1st in Div 2 in the great ocean race.

She is strongly constructed of full length splined Oregon carvel planking above the water with Teak below. She has a teak coach house - painted and dynel sheathed - and teak laid decks.

After a major refit around 2000 her surveyor reported that she was "at the time of the survey in excellent condition and in all respects a virtually new vessel".

Her current owner has continued a well documented ongoing maintenance program and is undertaking a cosmetic 'face lift' ready for her new owner. Lying Port Hacking, she is now regularly used for recreation and occasional twilight racing.
