Description: Viking 30 Encumbrance Check?
Would you like to cruise the Western Australian coast in safety? You don't have $150,000 plus to buy a new boat? Maybe you should consider an older boat that gets you on the water immediately and allows time to refurbish while still enjoying your sailing.

Fancy a bit of racing to sharpen up your skills and knowledge of boating rules? Sublime has an enviable record at HYC - three times Division 2 Champion.

Viking 30s have a solid reputation in Western Australia. They are sailed from many yacht clubs including a very active fleet at Hillarys Yacht Club.

Sublime comes with all the necessary safety gear - life jackets, flares, GPS EPIRB, VHF and 27MHz radios, fire extinguishers, comprehensive first aid kit, danbuoy and more.

The diesel engine is about 5 years old but has very low hours - well under 200 - we use it mostly to get out of or into our pen and to recharge the batteries. Most older boats will require a new engine - thats $10,000 minimum to add to the cost. Not so with Sublime.

Sublime has sleeping accomodation for 7 people, a toilet, spirit stove, and ice box. Two switchable batteries - starter and house - provide redundancy in case of emergency.

The price is negotiable and, in terms of retaining the pen, the club looks favourably on new owners who commit to participating in club activities. This could include joining the Cruising in Company group or the racing group or even both to get the best of all worlds.

So what are you waiting for? Give me a ring and arrange a viewing and / or test sail. You will be pleased that you did.

Remarks
While retaining Sublime's pen can not be guaranteed, the Hillarys Yacht Club has a policy of preferencing boat owners who participate in club activities. This includes racing and/or cruising-in-company activites. The new owners would need to negotiate with the club if they wanted to retain the pen.
