Shooting Star is a fantastic example of traditional timber boatbuilding. She is a 1960's hull constructed with the very sought after Huon Pine timber which is now almost impossible to find.
The beauty of Huon Pine is its ability to repel rot - it is such a dense oily timber which rot has trouble penetrating. They have found Huon Pine timbers at the bottom of rivers which are over 2000 years old and have been dried out and used to build new boats.
'Shooting Star' is a 30ft Cabin Cruiser. She had an extensive refit between 2006 & 2012 with new upholstery and a new high gloss varnish in the interior.
Engine: Volvo Penta MD32A 6 Cylinder 110hp which had a rebuild in 2006.
In the bow she has a very spacious double berth with an ensuite toilet. On the port side she has a good sized galley with a fridge & running water.
In the open set saloon / helm station the skipper has great visibility both forward and aft, with plenty of seating for all of your friends & family. There is a seat aft which can turn from a regular forward facing seat into a picnic styled forward & aft facing seat with room for all in a social setting.
She is great on fuel and easy to maintain. 'Shooting Star' is a turn-key boat and is ready to go cruising today!
