Description: Norman Wright 70 Flybridge Cruiser
Originally designed by Herreshoff and built in 1962 as the customs vessel "Killara" by the renowned Queensland boat builders Norman Wright and Sons, she served her time on Port Phillip Bay until being decommissioned in 1979. Shortly afterwards she was fully rebuilt and rebirthed as "Oceanna", a modern, yet classic luxury pleasure-craft. Fitted with an entirely new super-structure and interior fit-out, the new design was perfectly complimentary to the beauty of the original hull shape and features lower decks with multiple cabins sleeping up to 13 guests, including a generous owner's stateroom with en-suite aft, and an enormous upper deck with saloon and dining area adjoined by the ship's galley and a powder-room.

During the rebuild, the original, massive Rolls-Royce engines were replaced with twin Gardner 8LXB diesels, the first choice for diesel enthusiasts because of their reliability, economy and ease of maintenance.

"Oceanna" was purchased by the current owners in 1998 who, for the past 21 years, have loved and enjoyed her with regular coastal and lake cruises while steadily improving and upgrading her systems, condition and inventory. Her classic lines and confident presence are well known on the Gippsland Lakes and she turns heads wherever she ventures. The luxurious interior is refined and tasteful, but not over-stated, with quality fittings and furnishings throughout.

The owners are moving to the next stage of their lives and are selling "Oceanna" in magnificent condition. She has been set up for ease of handling and, as such, will suit a couple or family for very comfortable live-aboard coastal cruising, or even as a stylish and luxury "waterfront" apartment with plenty of entertaining space, both inside and out. Her current serviced berth, with full alongside access in the best marina on the Gippsland lakes, is optionally available to a prospective owner wishing to keep her based on the lakes.

Annual slipping just completed January 2021.
