Description: Norman Wright Cruiser
Scotia was designed and built by Norman R. Wright & Sons and was launched in 1948, operating as a Catalina flying boat tender just after World War II. Designed for moving passengers around quickly, she originally had bench seating and gullwing hatches aft of the helm for embarking and disembarking. Following this time she was then sold to the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron, where she was used as a starter and pick-up boat for yacht races, and in the 1980's she changed hands again and has since been a privately owned pleasure boat. Scotia over time was modernised and underwent an extensive refit at Norman R. Wright & Sons in the 1990's. This refit included the hull and topsides being sheathed with epoxy and fibreglass. In more recent times Scotia has been re-powered with a 160hp Cummins (diesel) and has been continually upgraded and loved by her current owner. With a cruise speed of 12 knots, and top speed of 19 knots, Scotia often turns heads as she efficiently crosses Moreton Bay. Scotia is the perfect weekend or day boat, ideal for pottering around the Noosa River, ducking over to the Sandhills at Moreton Island, or leisurely cruising the Pittwater in style.

Features include: Single 160hp Cummins (Diesel, shaft drive) | 230 litre fuel capacity | 180 litre water capacity (poly water tanks recently installed) | Two burner stove | 12v fridge | V Berth (with in-fill) | Electric toilet | Settee berths aft | Teak folding table | Fusion (blue-tooth) stereo | Icom VHF | Raymarine autopilot | Raymarine log | Raymarine GPS | Canvas side curtains | Front windscreen cover | Solar panel | Folding duckboard.

Scotia is available for inspection in Brisbane by appointment. Please contact Garth Fielding or Andrew Fielding for further details.
