"The Vic" was originally built for John Pompei as a scallop boat in 1968. Her dimensions are 34'10" x 12'6" x 4'. She has a full length keel and is constructed in 1.25" NZ Kauri planking. Powered by a beefy and reliable Ford Bowman 120 hp diesel, she is a fine example of this golden era of traditional timber work vessels, now converted to pleasure craft. Her layout is open plan down below, with galley, enclosed head and 3 settee berths. Upstairs the wheelhouse opens with double sliding doors to the generous cockpit.
Her inventory includes the following:
- Coursemaster auto-pilot
- Furuno radar
- 27 meg + VHF + Codan HF radios
- GPS plotter + two sounders
- 240 v shorepower with 40 amp charger
- 2 x 80 watt solar panels
- Broadwater stove/grill
- Electrolux fridge
- Gaff rigged main + headsail
- hydraulic steering
- plastic tender
"The Vic" has just been slipped for annuals (October 2020).
