Scimitar 1010 is a renown coastal power catamaran that is economical and easy to use with good headroom and accommodation. When the very first Scimitar 1010 was launched in 1998, it gained the prestigious B. I. A. Australian Cruiser of the year award and has enjoyed an evolution of improvements since. The quality of construction and efficiency of design continues to support this model as a serious long distance cruiser and entertainer with excellent fuel economy. What makes the Scimitar unique is its 24/7 Iceer refrigeration unit which is powered solely by solar panels and a fresh water capture system which enables the water tanks to be replenished with rainwater where required. The protected props and rudders are housed above the sponson and its shallow draft makes for safe handling where sandbars occur and allows for the boat to be beached without damage to its running gear.
Built in Brisbane and taken into possession by the the current and sole owner in November 2006, its use has been confined in the main to the greater Sydney area with the exception of a 3 month cruise from Sydney to Great Keppel Island and trips to Lake Macquarie..
The boat has been well cared for and regularly serviced since new. New clears were installed to the flybridge in March 2020 together with new covers all round. Accommodation consists of 2 double bed cabins and 2 single berths, a fully functional galley and the flybridge licensed to have 10 adults.
