"Pride" is a fine example of the famous AWB's. She is hull #3 of over 400 of these robust utility vessels built after the second world war for both military and government applications. Built by General Motors at Fishermans Bend Melbourne and launched circa 1942, she is powered by the ever-reliable Gardner 6LW diesel. Converted to a private pleasure craft around 30 years ago, she has confidently enjoyed many coastal passages since then.
Her bright, open plan interior is a perfect combination of living/entertaining space and accommodation, with a spacious double owners cabin forward and a 4 bed bunk room aft, separated by a decent galley and huge saloon. Bathroom opposite the galley has a separate shower stall. Doors at both the helm and the aft cabin give access to the generous walk-around decks, and to the upper decks with second helm station and plenty of seating. She is equipped with everything required for safe coastal cruising including radar, AIS and auto-pilot.
"Pride" has just had a major slipping, including full recoat of super-structure (November 2021).
