After retiring from the Sydney to Hobart yacht race, its owners Ernie and Barbara Eggers cruised around the South Pacific before settling in the Whitsundays in the early 1980s where the yacht has remained since.
Thekla is now moored at Shute Harbour near Airlie Beach in Queensland.
Designed by well-known marine architect Alan Payne, the Thekla was a sister ship to Solo which won the Sydney to Hobart five times in the 1960s.

She is made from mild steel and is a Centre cockpit auxiliary sloop design. The boat has been slipped and is back in the water waiting for her next owner. This boat could be used for business avenues or as An island getaway. The main engine is a Perkins 6-354 6 cylinders naturally aspirated diesel of approximately 89.5 kw.
