Description: Beneteau First 375 - SOLD. Yachts urgently needed for cash buyers
From the drafting board of naval architect Jean Berret, the Beneteau First 375 has a timeless elegance to her sleek lines and overall appearance. The First 375 was a highly successful design for Beneteau and struck the perfect balance between being a comfortable cruising yacht, and a capable offshore racing yacht with a good turn of speed and agility.
'Resolute' is a very nice example of this successful design and she has been extremely well setup as a comfortable cruising yacht with an impressive inventory of modern electronics and cruising gear.
The interior is oozing with character and an abundance of natural timber gives her a warm homely feeling. The saloon table has two large fold out leaves and will easily accommodate six adults for diner. Naturally there is a wine storage compartment in the middle of the table (a French boat wouldn't be a French boat without one). The two settees both have lee cloth's and make great sea berths while underway. There are numerous opening hatches to allow the sea breeze to blow through and a sliding sunroof provides an abundance of natural light.
The galley is one of the highlights of the 375's design. The U-shaped galley has been thoughtfully designed and has very good bracing for cooking on either tack while underway. There is ample bench space for preparing meals and a generous amount of storage. The Smev three burner gas stove has an oven and grill all with electric ignition. The extra deep stainless steel sinks are a practical and highly desirable addition to the original galley. Other features include a salt water foot pump to conserve water and filter on the main line to deliver good clean drinking water straight out of the tap.
Accommodation is well catered for with two private double cabins. The aft cabin has a huge double bed that extends under the cockpit floor past the centre line of the boat. There is ample storage and good airflow with a hatch that opens into the cockpit. The forward cabin features a plush new mattress comprising two different densities of foam and a memory foam topper. Air flow is excellent with a large opening hatch directly above the bed and there are good storage options on both sides of the cabin.
On the water, the 375 is a true sailor's boat in every respect. The 375 tracks upwind very nicely and has a lovely balance on the helm. This is an easy design to single hand with all running rigging leading back to the cockpit and the primary winches and mainsheet are in easy reach from the helm. Simply put, the 375 is a lot of fun to sail!
From a cruising perspective, Resolute is very well setup. On the bow is an oversized Muir windlass with 50m of 10mm chain and a 20kg Rocna anchor. There are davits on the transom for the Aquapro RIB (Alloy floor) that comes with a 6hp 4 stroke Yamaha outboard (2018). The outboard mounts on a bracket out of sight in the starboard cockpit locker. The custom made stainless swim/boarding platform makes getting into the dinghy a breeze and is great for swimming off while at anchor. Mounted above are two solar panels and a wind generator that provide more than enough power to run the onboard systems. With this setup, Resolute does not need to be plugged into shore power, the fridge is always left on, and the beers are always ice cold.
Over the past couple of years Resolute has undergone a considerable refit including a major upgrade to all of the electronics. On the helm is a new Raymarine hybrid touch screen chart plotter with Navionics AUS/NZ charts. A new Raymarine EV-200 autopilot with a P70 control head and a new HyProDrive hydraulic/electric linear actuator. A new Raymarine VHF radio with DSC. A new Vesper Marine AIS transponder and GME antenna splitter. A new NMEA 2000 back bone was also installed with a seatalk NMEA 0183 converter for the wind, speed and depth instruments. With this setup all of the data, from all of the instruments, is transmitted over WiFi via the Vesper Marine AIS allowing you to use a laptop for navigation with complete integration of all onboard data.
The house batteries were replaced with three new Bosch AGM's, the solar panels received new wiring and a new regulator, a new regulator for the Rutland wind generator, New 12v Islotherm refrigeration with freezer, new stainless steel galley sinks, new 2000W 240v inverter, new Plastimo compass, new keel bolts, all of the skin fittings and ball valves were replaced in 2017, new cockpit cushions that convert into a day bed, new bimini canvas, new stainless steel swim/boarding platform, new mattress in the forward cabin, new upholstery on all of the beds, new windows and head lining in the main saloon, and the list of smaller items goes on and on.
At only $89k Resolute represents excellent value for money. She has a very impressive inventory of high-quality cruising gear and modern electronics. And best of all, there is nothing left to spend. She is ready to provision and set sail.
