Fully equipped for extensive bluewater cruising, ready for her next adventure.
In 2018 Morning Sky arrived in Australia from the USA. Since arriving in Australia, she has extensively travelled up and down the East Coast of Australia while being maintained and upgraded by her owners.
One of the world's most popular American built sailing yachts renowned for quality and seaworthiness, built for spacious comfort and performance under sail, the Catalina 42 Mk I provides the best of both worlds for cruising sailors. Morning Sky is a beamy three cabin monohull for spacious living. She has a 1.47m draft with a winged keel, so you can get into anchorages most monohulls cannot, perfect for sailing throughout the Great Barrier Reef or global cruising in general.
Set up to sail long distances, she has a new Highfield dinghy (2022) on davits with a 9.8 2-Stroke Tohatsu outboard. Hard rails around the mast base for safely working on deck. Hard rails on aft stanchions for safety in the cockpit. Solar panels, as well as a smart regulator for fast charging. Extra-long range fuel tanks and a very well maintained 44HP Yanmar diesel.
The Catalina 42 is set up for short-handed sailing with all controls back to the cockpit. Furling headsail, plus a spare main and headsail, completing the sail wardrobe.
Catalina nailed the spacious interior for an easy liveaboard lifestyle with an owner's pullman cabin, storage lockers, ensuite bathroom with electric head, vanity & three showers. Similarly, there are two good-sized aft cabins.
The galley is well-appointed with twin sinks, a near new 3-burner Force 10 cooktop and oven, a top-loading fridge and plenty of storage. A generous main saloon has 2.03m headroom, a large saloon table, and many overhead hatches & side portlights that provide plenty of light and ventilation throughout. The navigation station is equipped with backup Garmin GPS along with VHF and AIS.
Morning Sky is a well-maintained yacht. The engine has been fully serviced (Nov 2021) at 3376 hrs and gas certificate inspection has been completed. Queensland registration expires in September 2022. New anti-fouling and prop speed has been applied with new zinc anodes installed (April 2022).
Located in Manly at RQYS. The marina 15m berth has been paid until 18/10/22, and can be negotiated into the sale price.
