Description: Clansman 30 Yawl "Chubasco"
Builder: Bruce Fairlie, Gosford, legendary builder
The Clansman 30 is a classic design with an exceptional reputation for their offshore capability, safety, and sailing performance. This vessel is an excellent example of the design having been well maintained and upgraded by its owner who purchased the vessel in 2013.
Built in 1976 by and for Bruce Fairlie, owner of Fairlie Plastics. Used by Bruce up until 1982.
Factory options include: Teak trim, Teak Bowsprit, Bronze Port Holes, Wheel Steering, inbuilt fuel (in keel) and water tank (in forepeak) and rigged as a Yawl.

There are many sail options with a yawl. Chubasco has a removeable inner forestay, useful when beating into stronger winds. (Yankee or No 3 jib required) Our favorite setup is "jib and jigger" which works well from 15-25knts. (The mainsail stays furled and the mizzen and genoa drive the boat. )

Stepping inside, the bright interior with varnished timber trims give the vessel a light and airy feel. The galley runs along the starboard side and is well equipped for overnight stays with a 2 burner metho stove, large icebox, stainless steel sink with fresh water, and excellent bench space. Opposite is the dinette with seating for 4 people in comfort. This also easily converts to a double berth when required. Forward is a second double (or two singles), and there are two pilot berths aft.

On deck, the cockpit is deep and well protected. This vessel is well set up and with its long integral lead keel, the vessel is safe and stable in even the most challenging conditions making it ideal for any Australian conditions (or even offshore passages!)

This vessel is powered by a reliable Yanmar 18hp Diesel Engine. This provides easy cruising at 5 to 6 knots. It was professionally installed and has been well maintained to ensure its reliability.
With its stunning lines, and exceptional performance, this is a vessel which is a joy to sail and own.

Updates: 31/01/22 - The boat is moored in Looking Glass Bay and there are moorings currently available (i. E. No waiting list) As I already have another boat I'll make the block available.

Update: 01/2/2022 - I have an insurance Survey from 17th July 2019 available. Email me directly for a copy.
