1980 model Compass 29 now for sale exclusively with DBY Boat Sales.
Designed by Don Lees and built by Compass Yachts, this example is one of the most updated we've seen in a while.
The Compass 29 design remains to be the most produced Australian yacht to date. Well regarded as forgiving and sea-kindly, the sailing stability of the Compass 29 is celebrated by experienced and novice Australian sailors with some having circumnavigated the globe.
Compass 29's satisfy the need for a safe, family cruising yacht with a solid reputation. They are structurally overbuilt and a testimony to why there are still so many of them out there today.
This one has been slipped, antifouled & maintained regularly (last in Feb last year) by the current owner who has owned the boat since 1995, with a new engine installed in 2014, a Yanmar 2YM15, showing a very low 150 hours now, new propeller and all new engine ancillaries, Olympic sails are 2015 and standing rigging is 2002.
Comfortable & relaxing for overnight stays during summer evenings with a deep sided sturdy cockpit for safety at sea.
Accommodation layout to suit a family which can sleep 6 and an internal table setting for 4.
The engine purrs and with a sound hull, good sails, good mast - with a coat of paint, some internal cosmetic refurbishment it will make it a perfect, family sailing boat and add considerable value.
Located nearby our Newport office in Clareville with possible mooring and dinghy storage.
