Dufour's design philosophy places a high priority on sailing performance, and the success of the 365 Grand Large can largely be contributed to its impressive sailing characteristics. The other contributing factor without question, is the clean lines and stunning good looks of the 365. On the water, Knot Dreaming is a real head turner!
The well-designed cockpit makes the 365 a pleasure to sail. The traveller is located safely out of the way on the coach house roof and all lines lead aft to the cockpit where they are in easy reach. By incorporating a generous amount of teak work, Dufour have given the 365's cockpit a luxurious upmarket appeal. The large folding teak dining table is perfect for entertaining or serving the needs of a cockpit full of thirsty sailors. A clever folding wheel gives easy access past the helm to the swimming/boarding platform on the transom.
With three double cabins, accommodation is very well catered for. The owners cabin forward has a superb layout and features a double pullman berth and settee. There is ample storage with a generous size wardrobe and numerous storage lockers. There are ocean views through the two porthole windows and a large overhead hatch allows the sea breeze to funnel through.
The two aft cabins are surprisingly large for a yacht of this size and they both feature generous sized double berths. Add to this a drop-down saloon table that converts into another double, and you can comfortably accommodate up to 8 adults.
The saloon has a large dining table that is spacious enough to seat six adults around for diner. The generous use of Moabi mahogany timber gives the interior a rich warm feeling. Numerous opening hatches provide great ventilation and loads of natural light. The two porthole windows add extra light and ocean glimpses.
The linear galley has ample bench space for preparing meals and features upmarket Corian bench tops and double stainless steel sinks. There is a large 120 litre under-bench fridge and a two-burner stove and oven.
Knot Dreaming is Australian registered, and she was brought up to Category 2 in order to participate in the 2011 and the 2015 Bali race and rally. In addition to the standard safety inclusions, she boast a comprehensive offshore safety inventory that includes an AIS transponder, HF radio, Life raft, jack lines and harnesses, storm jib and tri-sail.
The Grand Large range has been a huge international success for Dufour yachts and has won a number of industry awards. The Dufour 365 Grand Large was voted French Boat of the Year in 2005. It was later voted Boat of the Year 2006 by IPC Magazines; Yachting World, Yachting Monthly and Practical Boat Owner.
