Much reduced for immediate sale! The classic H28 Ketch 'Sallyfish' is a great example of the famous Herreshoff design. These are superb sea-kindly yachts with a great history and have always been a popular choice for sailing on Port Phillip. 'Sallyfish' as she is now known, was built in the mid 1950s as 'Tamarie' of 1" strip planked Huon Pine on laminated frames. She has fibreglass sheathed marine ply decks and an Oregon superstructure. The strip plank construction is immensely strong and her hull remains exceptionally fair. She has varnished Oregon spars, dacron mainsail and mizzen both with lazy jacks and covers plus a dacron furling genoa. She hjas a Yanmar 8hp diesel engine
She has Autohelm electronics with boat speed and depth functions plus VHF and 27 Meg two way radios and a Plastimo Contest steering compass. Below decks she has two single settee berths in the main cabin and a single berth in the forward cabin, a marine toilet and a galley with two burner meth spirit stove and a sink.
Perfect for easy day sailing or bay cruising, her shallow draft also makes her an ideal yacht for the Gippsland Lakes where a number of other classic H28s are sailing. Her current owner has enjoyed her for more than twenty years and now seeks a new owner to sail her away to new adventures.
