OYSTER SJ43 GENUINE OYSTER PERFORMANCE CRUISER RACER  

Launched out of Landamores Yard in Norfolk UK 1983. Classic lines of the era & constructed in hand laid GRP.
This yacht is a completly capable ocean sailing machine. She is not overloaded & has a layout carved from burmese teak in her salloon, galley & navigation area that is funcional & practical aswell as recent teak & holly laid cabin sole.
Her bilges are clear, uncluttered & not full of pipe work, tanks pumps hot water systems & other things to give you grief at sea just when you dont need it.
Design parameters are about ocean going performance with ability to sail at 7knots up wind at 33 degrees aparent without bogging down in a seaway.
She has a seriously engineered keel to hull structure with the original 2.7m draft being reduced down to 1.9m by way of a lead filled bulb.
She's fitted with some big winch power & her primarys are massive 3speed Lewmars & 2 speed Lewmars as backups in the cockpit shes cutter rigged with the staysail up. Reefing is by mast or cockpit with self sailing lewmars & reef line jammers at boom goose neck.
Rest is the usuall stuff, Auto helm sailing instruments, Auto Pilot plus flemming Major Wind Vane, HF Radio & VHF, EPIRB & GPS & Safety Gear etc... Etc..
The stainless standing rigging & deck staunchions are new. The mast hasn't been plugged back in since replacement because the yacht has been hardstood in her cradle for a bit over 3 years. Loved sailing & living on her since 2006 but it's time now. She's a genuine Oyster & a bit of a barn find if you have 3to4 weeks spare to give her a bit of a detail up.
