2011 Prout 50 SW | Discovery

The aptly named Discovery is an immaculate Prout 50 SW that has been comprehensively equipped and upgraded ready to take you on unforgettable world cruising adventures.

Built and finished to absolute premium standards, Discovery is an Owner's version providing outstanding living space for relaxation and entertaining. Her master suite boasts a queen island bed with desk, settee and decadent ensuite with separate shower. Guests are equally spoilt onboard with two luxurious queen-sized cabins each with their own toilet and a shared shower.

Discovery's interior exudes a beautiful ambience courtesy of her solid cherry timber cabinetry, lustrous leather and genuine granite benchtops. The vast cockpit features stunning teak decking as well as ample cocktail and dining seating, while fitted strataglass clears afford outstanding protection from the elements. The helm station has an oversized carbon-fibre wheel and enjoys excellent all-round visibility, comfortably seating up to four people.

The catamaran's numerous features include an abundance of interior and exterior storage, impressive headroom, low engine hours, comprehensive electronics, a high-capacity water maker, washing machine, full air conditioning and a 3.4m Zodiac tender with 15hp outboard. To ensure confidence at anchor 100m of new 10mm galvanised chain was fitted in 2021 and a new 45kg Ultra Anchor installed.

Her 9kva genset is supplemented with a generous 1.3kw solar capacity with 800Ah Mastervolt Lithium batteries, installed in 2021. Mastervolt 3kW inverter chargers have been replaced with Mastervolt Easyview installed at nav table and distribution board. Discovery's sail inventory is in excellent condition and comprises main, genoa, 100m2 screecher and a storm jib. Her standing rigging and all halyards were replaced in 2022. Her extensive safety equipment includes drogue, parachute anchor and a 4-person Viking self-righting life raft (new 2021).

Communications include installation of an HF radio, iridium go, cel-fi mobile phone booster, AIS 700.

Discovery has been thoroughly and expertly maintained since being launched in 2012 and includes substantial upgrades. Her current owners are experienced sailors with a meticulous eye for detail and have set her up for long-distance cruising after having themselves enjoyed Discovery while cruising the Australian east coast and further afield in the Coral Sea.

Due to unforeseen family circumstances the owners have reluctantly decided to sell, and Discovery is being listed for sale fully equipped with a comprehensive spares inventory. She is ready to take off again with no expense spared and nothing required to simply step aboard and set sail.
