Sailing journal of the yacht "Cape Petrel"

From owner /skipper :
"Have sailed over 40,000 miles in her. From Adelaide originally to Port Fairy ; from there to far north Queensland twice via southern Tasmanian and return. Then from Port Fairy south to Port Davey and on from Hobart to New Zealand (Bluff). From Bluff to Stewart Island and back eventually almost the entire NZ coast with a side excursion to Fiji over the course of 16 months.
Then sailed to Chile (Puetro Montt) keeping in the westerly's (mainly south of 45 South). While in Chile sailed the length of the channels (over 1000 miles) twice and two other trips of over 1000 miles each.
We were frozen in on four occasions during the winter of 2010 and once locked in a little bay for four weeks due to ice build up in the main channel.
Not once were we cold or worried in the slightest.
Ashore to get firewood was a pleasant outing - to leave the wood heater on low and go ashore in the snow to return to a home that almost seemed she put her warm arms about you as you go below".
On crew's insistence we returned via the Robinson Crusoe islands, Easter island, Tahiti, Tonga, Fiji, Vanuatu and home to Australia (Cairns).
From Cairns sailed north checking out of Australia in Thursday Island and then across the top to Kupang (Indonesia) through Indonesia to Batam and then up the Straights of Malacca to Langkawi. From Langkawi south though the south China sea to Saba (Malaysia) and then onto Puerto Princesa (Philippines), across the Sulu Sea to Cebu.
After a major refit, down to Samal island (Davao) south then through Indonesia via Sulawesi to Kupang, south to Broome and now at Geraldton on the Western Australian coast.
'Cape Petrel' is truly a world cruising yacht and a new owner could feel confident she will show them the world's most remote places if they choose, in safety and comfort. "
Owner on board to show features of the yacht.
"This is a yacht with a proven track record for sailing the globe's oceans".
Inspection encouraged if planning a world sailing odyssey !
