Description: Swanson 38
The Swanson 38 is a proven liveaboard cruising yacht and "tarima" is one of the best. The Swanson 38 has solid construction and classic lines. The bulwarks and high triple lifelines coupled with the deep snug cockpit protected by the solid dodger give good security when on deck. The cutter rig with roller furling on yankee and staysail makes sailing easy and safe in all conditions.

"tarima" is the palawa kani word for albatross and fitting for such a capable offshore sailing vessel.

"tarima" was completely built by Swanson Bros and has been lightly used for much of its life. She has been well maintained and benefited from an extensive refit over 2018-2020. This refit covered electrical upgrade, mast refit, upholstery, refinishing interior surfaces, seacocks, compass, sails, lifelines, ventilation, portholes, hatches and plumbing.

"tarima" has taken me on adventures from the wilds of Port Davey to the warmth of the Whitsundays in comfort and with ease. The Aries windvane self steering gear paired with the Coarsemaster autopilot has made all this possible double and single handed.

Accommodation
Swanson Bros created a comfortable interior with attention to detail and appropriate use of materials. Starting forward there is a large double cabin with ample storage.

Moving aft a shower / head compartment is situated to starboard. This has a solar ventilator to keep it sweet and a holding tank should it be required.

The saloon is aft of the main bulkhead and features a U shape dinette to starboard and lounge settee to port. A charcoal solid fuel burner is installed on the port side to keep it toasty. Lockers outboard and under seating provide extensive storage for food and equipment.

Aft of the saloon area is a galley to starboard and a navigation station to port. The galley is fitted with a Roden gas stove with two burners, grill and oven. Refrigeration compartments are located under the benches. A deep twin sink arrangement is serviced by pressurised fresh water.

The navigation station has pilot book and chart storage along with a large flat navigation table area. The DSC VHF Radio is installed here along with the coursemaster autopilot control head.

Custom flyscreens are available for hatches and companionway.
