Fibreglass/GRP RIB - ORCA HYPALON
Raymarine 7" Touch screen
I purchased this boat new in 2013. Predominantly used for diving, pulling pots and tendering around Rottnest Island. The oversized ORCA Hypalon pontoons gives this boat extreme stability at rest and underway. The Suzuki DF140 (perhaps the "Toyota" of outboards) is quiet, powerful and most importantly - reliable. The prop is pitched for out of hole performance and has 'jet ski' like acceleration, whilst the RIB rides flat without the stern squatting down. Rough weather performance is phenomenal, as it surfs 3m waves effortlessly. This is the perfectly sized RIB (particularly for WA) as from my experience the 6.5m RIBs are too big and heavy to manage single handed when towing to Rotto behind a 40 to 50ft cruiser, and the 5.5m RIBs are just too small as they are often coupled with 60HP motors and a sit down style helm position thus performing more like a dinghy rather than a capable offshore trailer boat. Reluctant sale, but I have to make room for a new trailer boat due to arrive in February.
