PLUSH:
In 2007 Anchorage Houseboats was pushing the boundaries in houseboat quality, design, and technology. They could see the future was no longer glorified caravans on pontoons, but people were wanting and expecting more from a holiday home on the water.
Peter & Vicki McKernan combined their talents and with their clients invested in new design and the use of quality fittings and appliances. Peter was a pioneer and at the forefront of Solar Electric Technology on houseboats (Two of today's most sort after houseboat electricians were trained by Peter).
Plush embodied this way of thinking. Large, tinted windows with a slightly higher ceiling to invite the magic of Lake Eildon into the houseboat. Minimal front deck to enable three good sized bedrooms as well as a rear lounge. The master bedroom was configured to provide direct access to the bathroom. A ducted heating system was installed.
The kitchen had an island breakfast bar servery with Caesar Stone benchtop. The fridge/freezer was no longer gas but fully electric, enabled by the solar electrics. Top quality appliances were installed. Check out the photos; if you must spend time in the kitchen, what better view could you have.
Lifting the hatch at the top of the internal stairs was a hassle; no longer a problem as an electric shutter hatch was installed.
Upstairs the innovative style and design was continued with the Targa and Hardtop. A great outdoor kitchenette was installed with a fabulous stone benchtop servery where you could enjoy a BBQ or sip your favourite beverage as you watch the brilliant sunsets. Plus, there are still spaces to enjoy the sunshine and sit back and watch the sun's rays dance on the water.
This was a great quality beginning for Plush and as a result of this Plush has always attracted owners who want the quality experience and have been prepared to maintain the houseboat at this high level.
Plush was slipped in 2019 with the pontoons serviced and a GMW CHIR issued.
Plush has a fresh vibrant quality feel to her; the large, tinted windows and slightly higher ceilings certainly have something to do with it.
Plush certainly ticks a lot of boxes as a quality family holiday home on the water. You could walk on now and start enjoying the magic of Lake Eildon.
With this quality presentation, Plush also provides an opportunity with the new size regulations and could be extended like many similar houseboats have recently undergone. With the prices some of these houseboats have been achieving, this could be done without over capitalizing your investment. Happy to talk to you about this potential.
