This much loved vessel is proudly Australian designed, built, and launched in Sth. East Queensland
2013, with attention to quality and detail second to none. A simply amazing combination of space,
economy, comfort, sea capability and reliability.
With the passion, knowledge, and skills of first-class shipwrights, that only generations of experience
on the water can bring, 'Kinkuna' was built and fitted out to exacting detail. Whilst her name means
'place of laughter' (which is very very apt if you know the captain), she is affectionately referred to as
'serenity' by family and friends, with her 'acres' of space for comfortable entertaining and her sleek
lines when underway.
The attention to detail from keel to cabin is arguably second to none. The American Cherry trim and
floor speaks volumes to the care and quality put into the young lady. Whilst some details are unseen
day to day they are invaluable in providing a vessel comfortably capable of relaxing day trips on the
bay sitting off the beach with a cold drink on a warm day while friends and family swim, or extended
cruising up and down our beautiful Aussie coastline. With economy envied by many you can cruise
quietly all day at 10 knts, at a modest 12.5l/hr. Trim her at 8 knts and her economy is an astounding
sub 8 litres per hour. Just brilliant for a huge volume 40' boat and with 1200 litres of fuel the world is
your oyster.
From a design perspective she is a perfect very sea capable economical cruiser. Twin (low angle)
shaft drive diesels, with keel protection, providing peace of mind around our shallows and
maintenance much much less than sail drives. She boasts three very comfortable (3) double berths,
150 ltrs of refrigeration (plenty of beer and wine space), 85 ltrs of freezer space for those long trips
away from port and a spacious galley the envy of many high-priced imported cats. She has quality
navigation electronics with radar, auto pilot, sounder, chart plotter and solar charging in support.
Kinkuna is much loved and impeccably maintained. As they say, 'you can eat your dinner off the
bilge'.
Sporting an immaculate new professional paint job, new cockpit covers, new acrylic windows, new house battery bank (and so much more), Kinkuna is also recently slipped with fresh antifoul, prop-speed and her motors serviced - she is ready for her next chapter. Test runs are welcome to genuine interested buyers. We always love taking her out. We don't need much of an excuse to go East through the harbour leads. Cheers, Chip & Jen
