Description: Catalina 28 MKI Extensively refitted and upgraded
Knot Happy is now for sale. She has had every system replaced and upgraded over the past two years to setup as a comfortable coastal and harbour cruiser.
She is a Mk 1 model with the optional taller more powerful double spreader rig, standing rigging replaced (2019), new chainplates (2023), Raymarine instruments (2022), and new steering system (2022). With new sails installed in 2022, with lazy jacks and sail bag for easy sail management.
Recently antifouled and polished in December 2023. It was repowered in 2007 with a Volvo Penta D1-20 (only 630 hours) which is in excellent condition having been regularly serviced and maintained. Dry dusty bilge, no leaks.
There is accommodation for up to 6 people, including the standard Catalina aft double berth under the cockpit, a very roomy saloon, and a galley complete with a 2 burner gas stove with griller. There is also an external Magma gas barbecue. She has a protective spray dodger, and bimini, and there is a boom awning to keep the cabin cool and shaded.
Knot Kappy has been maintained and upgraded extensively, not another dollar to spend, all receipts and records provided. Reluctant sale, she sails comfortablly, safely, and all from the cockpit. Upgrading now for ocean crossing. Moored at Gladesville.

Steering (all new) - Edson steering radial, cables and chain, helm brake pads, sheave/pulley plate + crossed wire idler, rudder stops, leather wheel kit.
Remarks
Hull - last antifoul December 2023. New - all thru hulls with trudesign composite, bilge pump (Rule2000), waterproof bilge pumping wiring housings, bilge float switch, bilge pump alarm, painted bilge (bilgekote), all new bilge piping, manual Whale Gusher Urchin bilge pump 47L/10G per minute. Replaced hatch seals and dogs, lazarette seals.
Cabin/Cockpit - New 12V fans, acrylic windows, external cockpit cushions, cockpit seat, LED cabin lights, rear bulkhead - added battery inspection and fuel tap inspection port, head in/out hoses and thru hulls. All cushions professionally steam cleaned, carpet replaced.
