How do I list my boat for sale?
Simple as 1,2,3!
1. Register your contact details.
2. Create your boat ad (with up to 8 photos)
3. Make your secure online payment.
Why must I register to publish a boat ad?
Your email address and password are used to verify your identity and allow access to edit your boat ad. Your email address is also used to forward Enquiries for your boat ad to you.
I have registered but didn't create my boat ad, what happens next?
You have 10 days to use the registration and create your boat ad. After that period your registration will be permanently deleted.
How long does my boat ad remain on Boats Online?
It is important that our site is up to date. We will email you after just before your ad expires to check that your boat is still for sale. If we don't hear back from you or your email address is invalid, incorrect or changed, we will remove your boat advertisement. Of course if you sell your boat, please remove your boat ad ASAP.
Can I change my email address for the published boat ad?
You have to contact our office to verify a change of email address and we will do the change for you.
Can I submit several boat or boat accessory ads with the same email address?
No, each boat or boat accessories ad must have its unique email address.
I lost my password, what now?
Easy, go to MY ACCOUNT, located on the left side of the web page, and use the RETRIEVE function, just follow the steps.
What is file size?
The digital size of an image is measured in bytes (or kilobytes, megabytes, gigabytes). Therefore an image of 300 kilobytes has a file size of 300 kilobytes.
What is pixel size?
A pixel is a single point in an image, an image is made up of many pixels. Therefore in digital image processing, width and height of an image are expressed in pixels.
Can I change photos for my boat ad?
Yes, go to MY ACCOUNT, enter your login details, go to UPLOAD PHOTOS, and follow the instructions to change photos for your boat advertisement.
Can I replace details and photos for another boat?
No, you have to set up a new boat ad and pay for it.
Why can't I upload my photo?
Check the file format of your photo, it must be .jpg or jpeg. Check the file size (kb) of your photo, it may be too large for the type of Internet connection you are using. We suggest you keep your file size to approx. 200kb unless you have high speed Internet access.
Why can I see only a part of my photo?
Due to packet loss during transfer to the server only part of your photo was transmitted. This can happen due to an erratic Internet connection. Just upload your photo again.
Why can't I see my boat or boat accessories ad?
It may be due to caching by your computer. Hold down the SHIFT key and click the REFRESH/RELOAD button of your browser to reload the web page from the server.
Can I refer to my Boats Online boat ad in other forms of advertising?
Absolutely! If you are using other boat advertising sources e.g.. newspaper, flyers etc, please invite potential buyers to check out your listing and photographs at www.boatsonline.com.au.
Who will contact me about my boat listing?
Most people who contact you will be genuine boat buyers. As with any advertising, you may get calls from boat dealers, brokers and other internet sites offering you free advertising however beware of 'hidden' costs and commissions of up to 5%.
Beware of prospective overseas 'buyers' sending scam emails - please use common sense and caution. The scam usually involves the 'buyer' sending you a bogus cheque for an amount more that you are asking and then ask you to send the difference.
