Every month we pull listing, sale and lead activity from across BoatsOnline's Australian marketplace to show how the used-boat market is actually moving — how many boats are newly listed, sold and actively for sale in each state, and where buyer leads and days-on-market activity concentrate by category and by state.
Sold listings fell 12% in September even as new listings rose 12%, but Western Australia kept converting listings into sales faster than any other state, posting a 15.5% sell-through rate against a 10.6% national average.
Nationally, sellers listed 870 new boats and sold 741 in September — a 10.6% sell-through rate, down from 12.3% in August. Western Australia's 15.5% sell-through rate leads every state, even as its active listings held roughly flat.

By state, Tasmania's leads jumped 19.5% month-on-month even as the national total fell 3.9%, the sharpest move — in either direction — of any state this month. Tasmania also draws the most leads per boat of the states charted, at 1.14 against a 0.76 national average.

Western Australia's standout sell-through this month shows strong buyer demand is out there. A fresh listing gets the most eyes right now.
Figures are drawn monthly from BoatsOnline's own marketplace: listing and sale timestamps for new, sold and active counts, and days-on-market from sold listings. Buyer leads combine enquiry-form submissions with phone-reveal and click-through activity, each weighted toward an enquiry-equivalent. Northern Territory is excluded from state-level figures this month due to very low volumes (2 sales).
