2019 DEHLER 42 - New Boat Library

Dehler - by Team Windcraft - We love the striking lines for the new Dehler 42. The design team at Judel/Vrolijk wanted to create extra speed advantage with outstanding comfort and German build quality. They have delivered as always with this 42ft / 12.84m performance cruiser - another successful design in the 50-year history of the Dehler brand.

The Dehler 42's exterior lines are distinctive and create a waterline length of 11.50m. The new model is designed for performance and follows design trends set by its successful predecessors - the Dehler 38 and 46. Familiar details include the curved lines of the cabin structure, the window design and elegant hull shape with steep bow and a flared wide transom. Sailors looking for high performance and speed will be impressed with the optional lightweight carbon rig giving a larger overall sail area.

The quality German engineering features a vacuum infused vinyl ester hull with a foam core. The structure is strong - floor beams are glued and laminated into the hull to distribute forces from the mast and keel. Supporting bulkheads are bonded to the hull. The bottom structure is reinforced with a high rigidity carbon fibre known as the "Dehler Carbon Cage". This is designed to carry more loads from the rig and is able to withstand extreme shocks.

On deck there are twin steering wheels and a spacious cockpit. A highlight for Australian and New Zealand buyers is the large bathing platform with an integrated swim ladder. Below deck you'll find a spacious lounge in the saloon, three generous cabins, two wet areas and plenty of storage. Another feature is Dehler's patented "Uni-Door" in the rear wet area - where one door can separate the entire WC area from the saloon or swivel to separate the washbasin area from the shower.

The Dehler 42 can be customized with a wide range of options to suit the buyer's lifestyle. Options include a touring version with teak deck and a large bathing platform or a performance version offering a lightweight carbon rig making the boat more lightweight for high performance sailing. As with all Dehler models the quality of the finish is superb and buyers can design the interior to their individual taste.
