Description: Marine Trader Tradewinds Cockpit Trawler
Completed in 2011: New Fuel tanks, Major Engine Overhaul
The Marine Trader Tradewinds 47' passage maker is a robust roomy vessel with an excellent following. In particular, this cockpit version with the Lehman 275 H. P. Was a limited production compared to its aft cabin only version. If you are fortunate enough to have this design you indeed have something very special. The cockpit adds a whole new dimension to the boat in fun in the sun activities. Think of snorkeling, scuba diving, fishing, sunbathing and morning coffee or alfresco dining and cocktails on the deck just to mention a few.
The most recent Tradewinds 47 (the original Tradewinds 47 went out of production in 1988) was a contemporary motor yacht design built in Taiwan and marketed in the U. S. By Marine Trader. Where the original 47 was built on a relatively slow semi-displace- ment hull, the new Tradewinds 47 rides on a faster modified-V bot- tom with a sharper entry and slightly more transom deadrise. Her standard two-stateroom layout is common for a boat of this type: a large stateroom forward, a spacious salon with the galley and dinette down, and a roomy master stateroom and head aft. A lower helm was standard, and a sliding door next to the helm provides easy access to the deck. The interior of the Tradewinds 47 is completely finished with well-crafted teak joinery. Topside, the full-width aft deck came with a wet bar and wing doors, and the oversize flybridge has the helm forward and lounge seating aft.
