Overview
Welcome to our new SAILING SERIES which will feature a new sailing mono or catamaran each fortnight. Americas Cup veteran & professional sailor Andrew Parkes is joining me to host this new series and together we will be doing deep dives into all of the latest sailing yachts on the market. The format is a test sail and then separate walkthrough video for each boat and we have made a special effort to provide the live aerial footage of the actual sailing so you can see exactly what is going on while receiving some commentary from Andrew and myself.
In this video we are featuring the Gran Soleil 40 which is a cruiser/racer from Italy that oozes style. We had up to 20kts of NE breeze on our test day and we put her on all points of sail and feed back the numbers to you.
In the second video Andrew takes us for a deep dive into the interior and features of this yacht and we try to put our minds into the head of which sailors will see best value from owning a yacht like this.
The answer is its not for everyone! This is a high performance yacht which will best suit a specific sailor and we touch on that at the end of the video.
