Portable Electric Mini Jet Boats Launch In Australia – No Trailer Required

Vector Water Craft introduces a new generation of seven compact electric watercraft designed for simpler ownership.

Portable electric mini jet boats that can be transported in the back of a ute or large SUV have been launched in Australia by Vector Water Craft, introducing a new category of compact powered watercraft designed to simplify recreational boating.

The new 7 boat Mini Jet Boat (MJB) range combines electric propulsion with compact hull designs to create a simpler alternative to conventional small boats and jet skis. By removing the need for petrol engines and traditional boat trailers, the craft aim to reduce many of the ownership complexities typically associated with powered boating.

The seven-model range spans entry-level recreational platforms through to high-output performance craft delivering up to 72kW of electric propulsion.

Electric propulsion delivers immediate torque, smooth throttle response and significantly fewer mechanical components compared with small petrol engines. This results in simplified operation and reduced maintenance complexity while still providing strong acceleration and responsive performance on the water.

According to Vector Water Craft, the new range has been designed to make powered boating more accessible. Importantly, the range starts from $11,836, positioning these advanced electric boats within reach of a far broader market.

Traditional boat ownership often involves trailers, fuel systems, ongoing servicing and storage issues,” said a Vector Water Craft spokesman.

“Our Mini Jet Boats simplify the experience. Many models can be transported in the back of a ute or large SUV and launched quickly, while electric propulsion removes many of the mechanical complications associated with small petrol engines.” The boats are designed for rivers, lakes and sheltered waterways and may appeal to recreational families, waterfront property owners and resorts seeking compact electric watercraft options.

Model Range

The Vector Water Craft Mini Jet Boat range includes both single-seat and two-seat platforms across several performance tiers.

Entry-level models include the Vector Sprint, available in 15kW and 25kW configurations, and the Vector Racer, offered in Cruise (15kW) and Sport (25kW) variants.

For shared recreational use, the Vector Duo provides a two-seat 25kW platform designed for family boating and general recreational use.

At the top of the range are two high-performance models delivering 70kW and 72kW of electric propulsion, providing rapid torque delivery and significantly higher performance capability.

The range also includes the compact Jetrib platform and the Alloy Jet Drop Pro, an aluminium hull model designed for increased durability and structural strength.

Depending on model and operating conditions, top speeds can approach 60 km/h, with run times of up to approximately two hours.

Hull Construction

The Mini Jet Boat range incorporates several hull construction platforms, including HDPE rotational-moulded hulls, composite polymer structures, and marine-grade aluminium hull construction.

These materials are selected to provide durability, corrosion resistance and structural integrity while maintaining compact, lightweight hull designs suited to electric propulsion.

Colour Customisation

Many models are available in a variety of hull and trim colours via the official Vector Water Craft colour chart, allowing owners and commercial operators to specify distinctive finishes.

Target Market

The Vector Water Craft Mini Jet Boat range is positioned for a wide range of recreational and commercial users including:

•  Recreational families

•  Jet ski owners seeking an electric alternative

•  Waterfront property owners

•  Private lake and river users
