NEW Beneteau Oceanis 52 (New Gen 8 Model)

The Beneteau Oceanis 52 forms part of the new 8th generation Oceanis range, designed to modernise cruising around simplicity, comfort and real onboard usability rather than just increasing size. At just over 16 metres, it is aimed at sailors wanting a capable offshore cruiser that remains easy to handle and enjoyable to live aboard, particularly suited to Australian coastal and extended cruising conditions.

Exterior:
The biggest change in this generation is the way the cockpit has been reimagined as a genuine living space. The Oceanis 52 uses its beam to create a wide, open cockpit with twin social zones, offering flexible use whether underway or at anchor.

Adjustable tables allow the space to shift between dining, lounging or sailing mode, making it far more adaptable than traditional cockpit layouts. This makes a real difference in day-to-day use, especially when entertaining or spending extended time onboard.

A key feature is the optional outdoor galley, which brings cooking and entertaining outside, reducing the need to move between interior and exterior spaces. At the stern, the large swim platform improves access to the water and makes boarding, swimming and tender use much easier and safer.

Wide side decks and a clear separation between guest seating and sailing controls also improve movement and safety, particularly when sailing short-handed.

Interior:
Below deck, the Oceanis 52 is focused on comfort, light and practicality for longer stays onboard. Large hull windows and overhead hatches fill the saloon with natural light, creating a bright and open feel that works well for both passage-making and time at anchor.

The C-shaped galley is integrated into the saloon, designed for secure use underway while keeping the space connected and social. Storage has been carefully considered throughout the boat, making longer cruising more practical and less cluttered.

Accommodation is well suited to extended cruising. The forward owner's cabin is a full private suite with generous space, storage and comfort designed for longer stays rather than short weekends. Guest cabins are properly proportioned with good ventilation and real berths, making them suitable for family cruising or extended guest use.

The yacht is typically configured with two bathrooms (toilets/heads) in standard cruising layouts, providing practical separation between owner and guest areas and making extended time onboard significantly more comfortable.

Sailing:

The Oceanis 52 is designed for straightforward, short-handed sailing. Sail systems are set up to reduce workload and keep key controls accessible from the cockpit, making it a practical choice for couples or smaller crews.

The cockpit layout ensures sailing operations are clearly separated from guest areas, improving both safety and comfort underway. The boat is designed to feel stable and predictable across a range of conditions, prioritising confidence and ease of use over high-performance sailing.

Optional sail upgrades are available for owners who want more power and responsiveness, allowing the yacht to be tailored to different styles of cruising.
