The Dufour 48 is a true bluewater cruising yacht, combining confident offshore performance, exceptional onboard volume and a level of comfort and customisation designed for owners who want to spend more time at sea and travel further.

Designed by Umberto Felci, with design by Luca Ardizio, the Dufour 48 features a powerful and well-balanced hull, precise single-rudder steering and twin helm stations. Its sail plan has been designed to deliver rewarding performance and reassuring control over longer passages while retaining the intuitive handling that defines the Dufour range.

Despite its size, the Dufour 48 can be configured as an exceptionally capable short-handed cruising yacht. The standard Easy configuration includes a full-batten Elvstrøm Dacron mainsail, self-tacking jib on furler, self-tacking track, single-line reefing led aft to the coachroof, two coachroof winches, lazy bag and lazy jacks.
This arrangement keeps everyday sail handling straightforward, with the self-tacking jib significantly simplifying manoeuvres when sailing as a couple or with reduced crew.

For owners wanting maximum mainsail convenience, the Dufour 48 is also available with an optional in-mast furling system, allowing the mainsail to be deployed, reefed and furled with minimal crew involvement.

Electric Harken winches, B&G autopilot, bow and stern thruster options and windlass controls with chain counter can further transform the Dufour 48 into a highly manageable yacht for short-handed offshore cruising.

For owners looking for increased sail area and trimming flexibility, the Ocean Pack introduces a genoa, four additional cockpit winches, adjustable genoa tracks, German mainsheet system and Code 0 / asymmetric spinnaker preparation.
