The HH56 is the evolution of our award-winning HH55. It represents years of design
and product development refinement, as well as the integration of recent technologies
that make cruising more environmentally friendly, safe, enjoyable and luxurious.
The all carbon and epoxy HH56 has been completely redesigned, starting with an
extension to the hull for additional waterline length, increased carrying capacity, and
improved performance through the water.
The HH56 comes with a new deck design based around a streamlined silhouette and
a forward cockpit where all sail handling is performed, increasing safety with easier
Single-handed operation possible. The forward cockpit layout also allows for several
key advantages: the large cabin top area (void of lines or bimini) nearly doubles
Solar charging capacity. A lowered boom allows for an increased mainsail area with a
lower centre of effort, and the forward cockpit doors and windows provide generous
ventilation through the salon and aft cockpit (which is more spac ious and more
protected with the traveller moved to the coachroof, making the forward nets easier
to access and use.
On the interior, we have integrated our more modern styling and a completely re
engineered furniture layout that integrates a traditional island to the galley for
improved flow throughout the salon, a more social cockpit with seating on all four sides
sides, safari windows retain the large openings between the salon and galley, yet
improve the use of space in the middle of the boat, and modern interior or design
touches elevate the luxury and comfort aesthetic.
All structural engineering has been reexamined and optimised based on years of
experience, designing, building and sailing these performance cruising catamarans.
Weight, strength and stiffness optimisation have been the focus of the redesign and
apply not only to the structure, but all the joinery and wall coverings now integrate
lighter carbon fibre laminate panels or a painted finish. With a choice between a four
and three-cabin layout, the team has been able to remove many unnecessary parts,
simplifying and reducing weight wherever possible.
