The Orca 11S is the biggest boat I build. Ten and a half metres of 6mm marine-grade aluminium on a 26 degree deadrise hull - a proper offshore bottom, not a bay boat with tubes on it. Seven separate air chambers. CE category B.

CHOOSE YOUR BOW. A fully enclosed cabin with a berth, aluminium skylight and an electric marine toilet with its own black water tank - or a U-shaped lounge that opens the whole front of the boat out for fishing and diving. Same boat, two completely different days out.

Aft, a U-shaped lounge across the transom with a real teak folding table, two suspension helm seats, outdoor shower, and boarding platforms either side of the engines.

500 litres of fuel. 100 litres of fresh water. Rated for ten.

This hull takes 400 to 900 horsepower. I rig them with twin 250s as standard and I'll go to twin 300s or twin 450s if you want them - but I'd talk most people out of the top end. Twin 250s on this hull is a boat you can insure, survey and put your family on.

PERFORMANCE. The builder publishes these figures for this hull, tested across three engine packages: 43 to 45 knots on twin 225hp, 55 to 57 knots on twin 300hp, and 75 to 78 knots on twin 450hp. They are the yard's numbers, not mine - I will publish my own GPS figures once the first Australian boat is in the water, the same way I do with my Orca 9.
