NEW Sportsman Heritage 231 Centre Console

The Heritage 231 is built on the same proven running surface as the Open 232, measuring 7.11 metres with a 2.59-metre beam and 20 degrees of transom deadrise, delivering the same proven ride characteristics. Everything above the waterline has been rethought around the family that will actually be using it.

The seating count tells the story. Plush wraparound bow seating with removable backrests and a removable table on stowable legs. A four-person edge-to-edge bench across the stern with aft-facing seats and a transom walk-through. Twin telescoping boarding ladders that stow recessed. A built-in sandbar cooler and a console-front cooler under the helm seat cushion. This is a boat designed for the hours spent stopped, not just the hours spent running.

Fishing is still catered for rather than deleted: twin 38-litre insulated transom aquarium livewells, two large insulated bow storage boxes that work as fish boxes, an in-deck storage box, and five rocket launchers across the back of the hardtop with spreader lights above the cockpit.

Standard equipment is the same quality story as the rest of the range: a SeaStar tilt helm with more than 40 degrees of travel and five lock positions, a stainless wheel, a dual-chair leaning post with flip-up bolsters, an enclosed head taking either a porta potti or a freshwater porcelain toilet, and SportLink with Garmin displays and twin 10-watt wireless chargers. The hardtop frame is bent and extruded from a single piece. Construction is no-wood, all-fibreglass with vinyl ester resin, NMMA certified, with a 10-year limited hull warranty.
