15m Commercial Workboat "TAWE"

"TAWE" is a rugged 15m Steel TUG / WORK BOAT. A very handy workhorse. Such smaller, 'ready-to-work' TUGS / WORK BOATS are hard to find, especially one that has undergone such a MAJOR REFIT (see below).
"TAWE" is certified in Survey Class 2C (2 crew + 2 passengers) UVI 446878, COS-32838-002. Inclination tests have been completed and a new stability book has been produced by Kedge Marine Surveyors. Bollard Pull - 4.8 Tonnes tow.

Location: Prince of Wales Bay Marina (end of "B" Arm)
Inspections: The VESSEL will be open for inspections between 12 to 2 pm on Wednesday 17th July, Wednesday 24th July, Saturday 27th July and Wednesday 31st July (four inspections).

- Inclining test, lead ingot ballast added and new stability book produced by Kedge Marine Surveyors
- Firepro fixed firefighting system fitted
- Overhauled steering hydraulics with new rams and tiller
- New TMQ AP4 autopilot
- Cut out and replaced bad shell plating in hold and tiller flat; sandblasting and paint in these and chain locker
- Prop shaft skimmed, new white-metal bearings and shaft seals fitted
- Main engine serviced; heat exchanger and raw water pump fully overhauled
- DC electrical system fully rewired; new start, house and radio batteries
- Hydraulics connected to the main engine and anchor winch fully overhauled
- 2x new anchor chains and anchors
- New engine-driven Jabsco bilge/fire pump
- Relining of wheelhouse 80% complete, inc. New dash and access stairs
- New sliding wheelhouse doors
- New aluminium watertight rear door
- 2x new direct-glazed back wheelhouse windows
- New quick-release tow hook
- Heavy duty tyres for fendering installed all round
- Full external paint job completed August 2022. Spray painted by a contractor in Wattyl 2 pack on all topsides, antifoul
