The FV Mahina Bay presents in excellent condition and is an owner / operator concern. The vessel suits gillnet (shark), coral trout (live), rock lobster, trap and bottom-set longline operations. The Owners have moved into another fishery and will consider all reasonable offers.

The vessel is a proven, turn-key operation currently running as a commercial shark fishing business from Portland, Victoria. The vessel is a relatively new-build, with the current owners commissioning and finalising the build in 2016 / 17. The vessel has been an owner-operator concern since construction and presents in excellent order and condition.

The vessel runs a hydraulic shark gillnet system, 1.2 Tonne per day Ice Maker and holds 7 x Bulk Bins in the main fish hold. The main hold is refrigerated and can carry additional bulk-bins when double stacked. The unloading system is via a Fassi F65A Deck Crane with a max 2.7 Tonne lifting capacity and 1,500 Kg capacity at 3.9m extension. The vessel is very well equipped and the layout makes for an efficient and effective operation.

The construction of the vessel is 10mm Steel in the Deck and 8mm Steel in the Hull. There is an additional insulated room aft that is currently used for storage and could be refrigerated for additional bait or product holding capacity. The vessel is versatile and will suit numerous fishing applications.

The operation is in AMSA 3B Survey with the next out-of-water survey due in OCT 2027. The SESSF Gillnet SFR currently on the vessel is also available for purchase if required.
