34m Dual Purpose Fishing Vessel
The FV Makybe BJ is a 34m Dual Purpose Fishing Vessel with an operating history in the Australian Southern Bluefin Tuna, Skipjack Tuna and Small-Pelagic Fisheries. The vessel has just completed an AMSA 10 yearly survey as part of her January 2026 slipping. Recent upgrades for the Vessel includes:
New shaft, stern seals and bearings
Fully serviced rudder with new pintle and upper bearings
Hull Thickness Test completed (available upon request)
Fuel Tanks Inspected
Fresh anti-foul and spot blast and paint above the waterline
Brine tanks painted and in excellent condition'
New Exhaust fans for engine room
New Masson Gearbox (installed in February 2024)
The vessels machinery, refrigeration and fishing equipment is high-calibre and fit for purpose. Driven by a 1000 HP Cummins KTA 50 and fitted with a Triplex Net Handling and Hauling System, the fishing system is well-proven and efficient. The vessels electronics system compliments the package. The crew accommodation and facilities support extended voyages in offshore conditions.
