Originally constructed in 1994, she was extensively modified/rebuilt in 2003 with bulbous bows added, the stern extended by 2.5m and the upped deck/wheelhouse expanded to include a cabin and bathroom to the specifications of the renowned film maker Mr Ben Cropp who used herl until around 2011 as a dive support vessel for underwater documentaries on the GBR.

Since 2012 the vessel has been based in Hervey Bay working as a whalewatching boat during the season July-October, 9:30am to 3:30pm with 35-48 passengers per day and for private charters the rest of the year, typically 1-2 charters per week.
