VANTA - Commercial Aluminium Landing Barge

VANTA is a purpose-built marine-grade aluminium landing barge currently operating in survey on Sydney Harbour. Designed to carry up to 5 tonnes of evenly distributed deck cargo, she is an exceptionally versatile work platform ideally suited to marine construction, waterfront access, cargo transport, infrastructure projects and general commercial operations.

Originally commissioned in Queensland in 1992 for BP as an oil pollution response vessel, VANTA spent the majority of her life stored out of the water apart from routine operational testing. Since being transported to Sydney in 2016, she has been professionally maintained and operated, presenting in excellent commercial condition.

Powered by twin Volvo Penta AD31B diesel sterndrive engines producing 130hp each, both engines have approximately 400 hours and offer reliable, economical performance.

A standout feature is the full-width drop-down bow ramp, providing fast and efficient loading and unloading of equipment, materials and vehicles. VANTA is also fitted with a hydraulic crane capable of lifting 2,000kg at 1.15m reach and 625kg at 3.5m reach, greatly enhancing her versatility across a wide range of commercial and marine applications.

The spacious 6.6m x 2.4m cargo deck, shallow draft and weatherproof wheelhouse combine to create a practical and highly capable work platform for harbour, river, waterfront and beach-access operations.
