For sale is our STERNCRAFT 7.8m aluminium dive trailer boat, previously used as part of our commercial dive operation in the Whitsundays.
This boat has been a real weapon and workhorse for us -- strong, practical, reliable and very well suited to dive work, fishing, spearfishing, island runs or general family leisure use. She is now surplus to requirements as we have upgraded to a larger catamaran.
Powered by twin Mercury SeaPro 115hp outboards with stainless steel props, she cruises comfortably around 20-22 knots and has a top speed of approximately 28 knots. Engines are currently sitting at approximately 1,850 hours and have always been serviced every 100 hours by Mercury.
Fuel capacity is 2 x 125L fuel tanks, giving good range for day trips and commercial-style operations.
The boat is set up with seating for 8 divers, a practical dive layout, and a great dive ladder for easy entry and exit from the water. While she is not the biggest 7.8m boat in terms of deck space, the layout is very usable and has worked well for our dive operation.
She also has all-around clears and roof cover, which help keep guests and crew dry and protected in rougher weather. The clears could easily be removed if someone wanted to use her more as a fishing or family leisure boat.
Included is an OZI aluminium trailer, built to a 4T standard and currently registered as 3.5T.
