Fully Rebuilt Steel Commercial Trawler

FV Reward II underwent a comprehensive rebuild in 2018, with major structural works completed to modern commercial standards. The freezer hold and engine room were stripped back to bare steel, sandblasted and rebuilt. The freezer hold was re-insulated using spray foam, fibreglassed and finished with a marine-grade coating system designed for durability and efficient operation.

The vessel is powered by a Caterpillar 3406 main engine installed during the rebuild. New 415V and 240V AC electrical systems, upgraded switchboards and new 12V and 24V DC systems were fitted, together with a modern electronics package to support commercial operations.

Extensive Mechanical Upgrades

Ongoing investment has continued well beyond the rebuild. The main winches were fully rebuilt in 2023, a new exhaust system was installed in 2024, and a new 24V alternator and battery charging system was fitted in 2025. These documented upgrades reduce future maintenance requirements and provide confidence for commercial operators seeking a vessel ready to return to work.

Commercial Fishing Licence and Trawl Effort Units Included

The package includes a Queensland Primary Commercial Fishing Licence (PCFL), T1 fishing authority, 3,096 Northern T1 Trawl Effort Units and 600 Central T1 Trawl Effort Units. With the commercial fishing authorities included, purchasers can acquire both the vessel and fishing entitlements as a complete operating package.

Optional Deepwater Jetty and Shed

A deepwater jetty and shed are available for purchase for an additional $60,000 plus GST, subject to council approval. This optional infrastructure provides buyers with the opportunity to secure an operational base alongside the vessel package.
