HOUSEBOAT - APPROX 12 X 3.4 METRE - 2/4 BERTH  

Built by Speight Engineering (Renmark) in 1984 as a commercial tourist vessel.

Dragonfly - has an all aluminium hull with 4 separate baffled hulls acting as a monohull with shallow draft of about 3-400mm.

Walk through style with large windows throughout, a very comfortable, easy to handle and maintain boat. Beautifully restored and maintained by current owners and ready to cruise with no work required.

Forward lounge /dining and helm with modern galley mid-ships and TV and radio. Sink, bench, upright gas stove, microwave, cupboards, under bench dishwasher and 3way fridge. Dining table (extendable), 2 chairs, and new casual reclining chairs and footstools (enough room for sofa bed if required).

Aft bedroom area set up with two new single gas lift storage beds (has space for walk around Queen bed) and new mattresses with overhead LED reading lights, Sirocco fans, wardrobe, grey venetian blinds, storage shelves and 2nd TV. Bathroom at stern with moulded shower and rail shower head, electric macerating toilet, handbasin, storage nooks and cabinets. Gas HWS and new 12v electric pumps for river and freshwater from approx. 230litre storage tank.

o Sundeck and bimini cover on top deck with 2 solar panels, TV antenna and light. All weather storage in enclosed sundeck coaming.
o Two big storage holds in carpeted foredeck and all round weather blinds to enclose foredeck.
o Near new Yahama 60 hp high thrust 4 stroke outboard with latest digital gauges on helm, only 176hours in total. About 140 litres fuel capacity. Very economical cruising @about 4.5 litres per hour @ 7-8 kph.
o 3 new Bosch platinum batteries and multi-stage charger plus starting battery isolator.
o Stainless steel marine rail- mounted BBQ and gas cylinder.
o New lighting (LED) over forward and aft decks plus driving lights and spreader lights both sides.
o New 3.5KVa remote start generator.
o New electrical sub-board, electrolysis blocker (galvanic isolator) and voltage controller plus solar regulator and 1000w inverter ($10K spent in 2019).
o Registered until February 2025
o Insured as a traditional riverboat (lower premiums and less demanding insurance inspections).

Just slipped in April 2024 (Last slipped in October 2020). Hull was professionally cleaned to bare metal, repainted and anti-fouled, new anodes fitted.

Currently in Goolwa SA. Shallow draft makes Dragonfly ideal for cruising shallow reaches of Darling or Murray Rivers. Would suit as live aboard for 1-2 people.
