Vickers 33 Homecruiser

Happy Wanderer -- Your Floating Home Awaits
1990 Vickers 10.0m Houseboat | Previously Australian Registered | 8-Berth

AS-IS, WHERE IS, CONDITION. All systems are untested.

There's a freedom that only comes from waking up to a new shoreline each morning.  Happy Wanderer can be that freedom -- a 10-metre Vickers pontoon houseboat built for those who want the comforts of home without the mortgage, the neighbours, or the routine.

Space That Feels Like a House, Not a Boat
With a generous 3.5 m beam and a shallow 0.45 m draft, Happy Wanderer glides through inland waterways, rivers, and sheltered coastal inlets with ease. The layout features a forward open cabin and a lower forward cabin, giving you two distinct interior living zones. Sleep in two double berths, or open up the convertible dinettes and sofas in the saloon to accommodate more guests -- making this the ultimate group adventure base or extended-family cruiser.
Large panoramic windows flood the saloon with natural light, blurring the line between indoors and out.

A Galley Built for Real Cooking
Forget the cramped "wet bar" of a typical cruiser. Happy Wanderer's starboard galley is a proper kitchen: full stove and oven with range hood, a 120-litre fridge/freezer, microwave, and a large adjustable American Oak table. You'll cook real meals, not just heat up tins.

Off-Grid Systems
This vessel was designed to live aboard. A 3,000-watt inverter,  five solar panels with an MPPT charge controller, a wind generator, and 3 × 120Ah AGM house batteries give you genuine independence from shore power. Add air conditioning for those summer nights and a solar battery charger to keep everything topped up, and you're set for weeks at a time without hooking up.

Practical & Well-Equipped
o 2 × Outboards (50HP, 8HP)
o 1 x Tohatsu 50 HP outboards with hydraulic steering -- Once servicable they should provide smooth, reliable power at a 7-knot top speed and a comfortable 5-knot cruise
o 1 x 8HP Suzuki
o Tender with outboard (see broker for details)
o Windlass with anchor and chain for secure mooring
o Bimini covers across the upper deck, rear hardtop, and forward hardtop
o BBQ on board for alfresco entertaining
o VHF radio, GPS/plotter, depth sounder, TV, stereo, and radio
o Shore power connection when you want it

The Fine Print, Honestly Stated
The engines are due a full service, the forward anchor chain shows some rust, and the instruments haven't been tested -- all straightforward, budgetable items rather than structural concerns. Registration is expired and will need renewal. These are the sort of things that make a purchase price more attractive, not a red flag. Both outboard engines are unable to be run for testing. Reminder: All systems are sold as UNTESTED and Happy Wanderer is sold AS-IS.
Why Happy Wanderer?
Vickers built this hull to last. Fibreglass construction, a pontoon-style keel for stability, and a design that prioritises living space over speed -- because you're not racing, you're living. At 10 metres, she's manageable, affordable to maintain, and currently sits on a dock.
Whether you're downsizing, retiring, or simply tired of the same four walls, Happy Wanderer isn't just a boat. It's a different way of life, already built and waiting on the water.
