Scanmar Monitor Windvane
I had this Scanmar Monitor windvane made in the USA to suit my 12m Hallberg Rassy to sail home to Australia. It is a Swing Gate version so that you can still access the rear sugar scoop access area. This steered me home across oceans not consuming a single watt in 25000NM. It sails the boat perfectly in all but no wind. Simple repairable and steers the boat as though you are sailing it.
When I sold the boat the buyer couldnt get his head around it and left it behind.
I paid $6000 USD in 2010 (our dollar at $0.86)
