1930 NORMA MAY - 32FT CLASSIC TIMBER CRUISER

1930 NORMA MAY - 32FT (9.7m) CLASSIC TIMBER CRUISER - JERVIS BAY NSW

Norma May is a beautiful 1930 timber cruiser approaching her 100th birthday and looking for her next custodian to complete her return to the water.

At approximately 32ft (9.7m), she is a magnificent example of a traditional carvel-planked timber cruiser, with a gorgeous classic profile, raised wheelhouse and timber interior that simply can't be replicated by a modern production boat.

A substantial amount of work has already been undertaken by the previous owner, including:

- Engine
- Gearbox
- Rewired 12V electrical system
- Dual bilge pumps
- 240V battery charger
- New fuel tanks
- Heating
- Hot water
- Windlass
- VHF radio
- Simrad chartplotter with depth sounder
- A large quantity of equipment ready to be refitted

The decks have been undercoated in two-pack epoxy and sealed ready for finishing.

A range of paints, coatings and antifouling products also accompanies the boat, including International Everdure epoxy.

Norma May is currently stored ashore in Jervis Bay, NSW and requires completion of her hull and exterior restoration before returning to the water.

A local boat builder and shipwright has inspected the vessel and prepared a staged refit plan, providing the next owner with a defined pathway through the remaining hull, structural and exterior work and ultimately recommissioning.

Much of the expensive mechanical, electrical and equipment work has therefore already been tackled. What Norma May now needs is someone with the enthusiasm to finish the job and bring the whole boat together.

Her original character remains everywhere - timber wheelhouse, traditional helm and wheel, timber cabinetry, galley and classic accommodation below.

This could become a genuinely spectacular boat.

Restore the timber and paintwork sympathetically, retain her beautiful 1930s character, and combine it with the modern engine, electrical, navigation and domestic systems already acquired for her.
