Description: AG Williams Cruiser
Purchased in 2000,'SeaMist' as she was formerly known, was trucked from Brooklyn, NSW, to Paynesville, VIC, where she served as the perfect Gippsland Lakes family getaway for 12 years. Renamed 'Anahata' in 2012, she has continued to provide the ultimate escape in absolute comfort and safety. The very proud owner of 24 years has spared nothing in ensuring this vessel is maintained in tip-top condition, with the honour of winning the 2020 Paynesville Classic Boat Rally.
Her lines are distinctly AG Williams, boat builders of Drummoyne, NSW. Custom built in the Art-Deco era of the 1930's, she displays the unique features of thick, opaque herringbone glass panels to the butterfly hatch, aft-swept bulkheads and stiles, Melbourne-tram style dropdown windows, and French doors separating cockpit from cabin. Solid Huon-pine carvel planking combines with meranti and mahogany inlaid cabin furniture, resulting in a strong yet soft overall finish. Deck and roof planking is almost inch- thick tongue and groove. A section of the foredeck roof has been cleverly left exposed to reveal the t&g plus evidence of the canvas originally laid over the planking. Modern additions include pelmeted venetian blinds, micro-suede upholstery, subtle low-wattage downlighting, and hinged polycarbonate crystal-clear(s) to the cockpit. Piece-de-résistance is the nude Diana lamp adorning the original dining- table with reversible two-tone (black/varnish) insert.
Powered by Yanmar and coupled to a double universal and slip-jointed jack shaft, Anahata gracefully slips through the water cruising at 6.5 knots, with flat-out at an impressive 8.8 knots - a true greyhound of the Lakes.
